Antenatal Classes
Our four-part series of private antenatal classes are held at your home, at times that are convenient for you, and cover the following topics:
Labour and delivery: signs & stages of labour, pain relief and birth plans
Interventions in childbirth: induction of labour, instrumental delivery, and c-sections
The Fourth Trimester: mum’s recovery & looking after your newborn
Feeding: breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and everything in between.
Antenatal course (8 hours): HK$ 3800
Want to personalise your classes? Maybe you’re a second-time mum looking for a refresher, or scheduled for an elective caesarean and just want to know about the c-section process - our classes are designed to be flexible and meet your specific needs.
Postnatal home visits
Leaving the hospital with your baby is so exciting, but it can be overwhelming. Often, you aren’t seen again until a routine doctor check up at 6 weeks postnatal.
The Island Midwife is here to bridge that gap for you, to give you peace of mind and ease the transition from hospital to home.
Visits involve a full postnatal check-up with a registered midwife, including maternal recovery, wound checks, newborn assessments and feeding support.
Package of 3 visits: HK$ 4000
One-off home visit: HK$ 1500
Lactation consultations
Tailored support from an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC®) whether you need an in-depth feeding assessment or a quick check up to weigh your baby.
Visits are designed to meet your needs whatever stage you and baby are at, and no matter if you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding.
The Island Midwife is also available for antenatal consultations so you can go in fully prepared - set yourself up for success by booking a consult before baby arrives.
90-minute home visit: HK$ 1500
30-minute clinic visit: HK$ 500
Antenatal midwife support
The Island Midwife offers personalised and flexible antenatal support to help you feel confident and prepared as you approach the birth of your baby. Consults include general mum and baby check-ups, birth planning support, antenatal education and a space to address all questions or concerns you might have.
Antenatal consultation: $1000 hkd
Community events
The Island Midwife began on Lamma Island in Hong Kong, and the values I hold dear are inspired by the close-knit and supportive friendships that exist within our island community of mums and babies.
That’s why community events are central to my role as a midwife in building those connections and bringing families together.
